Client Reviews

Touch Kailash is a team of fantastic professionals, with a personal touch.

I just completed my 18 day trip to Kailash Mansarovar via Lhasa. I had selected 'Touch Kailash Travels' after a through a search of many different travel agencies, and I must say that my choice turned out to be a perfect one. From receiving me at the Kathmandu airport to accommodation and sightseeing in Kathmandu, travel and accommodation in Tibet, taking care of our comfort and safety every single day, these guys were absolutely fantastic and professional. Their sherpa was professional, experienced and mature. He knew every aspect of this journey and made every possible preparation to ensure our comfort. The Tibet guide who joined us in Lhasa was equally good. He made every part of the journey a breeze. He was our knowledge resource about Tibetan people and culture, about Buddhism, he was our language interpreter, our friend and came to our rescue during every difficult situation. The challenge of high altitude in the Tibetan mountains was quite challenging. But these guys made sure that every member in the group stayed healthy, safe and energetic. One needs to understand that the journey to Kailash Mansarovar is not merely about spirituality. It comes with a lot of physical challenges and one needs to be ready for it. There is always a threat of fatigue setting in, low oxygen levels and possibility of altitude sickness that can lead to serious health problems.

However, the people in Touch Kailash did not let us feel any of these threats. Their knowledge, experience and planning were spot-on. Every day came with some foreseen and some unforeseen situations, and they were all dealt with great efficiency. The most remarkable aspect of these guys was that despite the hardships, they kept the smile intact on their faces all the while. This further enhanced the pleasantness of the entire journey.

Touch Kailash is a team of fantastic professionals, with a personal touch. I highly recommend them for Kailash Mansoravar trip. This is your 'value for money' travel choice.

I wish them all the very best and many more years of successfully organising the Kailash Mansarovar trip.

Guided and executed through best resources

I am extremely pleased to let all know that our Parikrama of Mt Kailash over a 4 day period, covering outer and part of inner Kora (through Charan Sparsh) during guru Purnima period was very well organized, guided and executed through best resources. The 3 guides from Touch Kailash team (Sujjan, Ashok and Santosh) under the overall guidance of Basu Adhikari simply performed a miracle and worked very hard, providing us all the help, guidance, encouragement and food on a timely manner. Their zeal, enthusiasm and commitment to our successful completion of Parikrama is really commendable. No words of praise or acknowledgement would completely describe their part and role in our pilgrimage’s success.

We were a team of 16 comprising folks from Singapore, India and Canada. Our internal team lead was one Bala from Singapore who planned the schedule and executed it very well, ensuring everyone’s requirements, needs and interests were well taken care of.

On the whole, thanks to His and Divine Mother’s blessings and best wishes, and the great infrastructural support and guidance we had from Team Touch Kailash, our team was both privileged and honoured to have successfully completed the holy Parikrama with relative ease.

High altitudes pose challenges like lower oxygen levels, inducing symptoms such as headaches, nausea, lethargy, and breathlessness. These affect everyone, regardless of age or fitness. Acclimatization is crucial; avoid tranquilizers and antibiotics. Slow down activities, rest frequently, and reduce talking. Walk slowly, keep loads light, and observe silence with a smile. Consume liquids, avoid sudden exertion, and protect against cold. Don't bathe in streams, protect against dust and sun, and follow experienced guides. Prioritize rest, hydration, and warm clothing during winter.

Wi-Fi will be accessible in Kathmandu, but as we venture into the more secluded regions of Nepal, connectivity will be restricted. The tour guide will carry a satellite phone for emergency communication. Wi-Fi connection is more accessible in the Tibet region as well, while there are no such facilities in Mansarovar, and during the Parikrama.

Options for e-sims are widely available in supported devices for cellular data, while mainstream social media including WhatsApp and Facebook are prohibited in China. The use of VPNs may allow for seamless communication with family back home.

During May to September, temperatures in Nepal and Tibet range from 10 to 22°C during the day. Despite the moderate daytime temperatures, the intense sun at high altitudes can create a much warmer sensation. Nighttime temperatures may drop significantly, reaching as low as -5°C.

As altitude increases, the body requires time to adapt to lower oxygen levels through a process known as acclimatization. Proper acclimatization is crucial for maintaining health and ensuring a comfortable journey at high altitudes. Most individuals are affected by the reduced oxygen levels at elevations exceeding 2,500 meters. Diamox (Acetazolamide) has proven to be highly effective in facilitating acclimatization and countering High Altitude Sickness. Further details will be provided closer to the journey.

Please consult your doctor and undergo a medical examination before embarking on the Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar yatra. Given the high altitudes, it is advisable to begin exercises such as walking, jogging, yoga, and breathing exercises at least a month prior to ensure a successful journey.
