A Buddhist kingdom Bhutan is located on the southern hills of eastern Himalayas landlocked between Tibet to the north and India to the west and south. Bhutan is a land of monasteries, fortresses and dramatic topography ranging from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. Sacred monasteries situated in the different valley and High Himalayas are destinations for visitors. Bhutan is “Land of Thunder Dragon” by Bhutanese name Druk Yul. Bhutan is only opened from 1970 for outsiders. Bhutan has less population of only 750,000 with 38,664 square kilometer land. There is only one International airport and it is in Paro.
